By using the Rickroller Discord bot (referred to as "the Bot"), you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Service ("TOS"). If you do not agree to these terms, please refrain from using the Bot.
The Bot is designed for entertainment and allows users to rickroll one another in a variety of ways on the Discord platform, through commands that post images, text, files, and links leading to a humorous or unexpected video. The Bot also maintains a list of blocked rickroll links and deletes messages containing them, replies to a short fixed list of rickroll trigger phrases, and can play audio in a voice channel. Users are solely responsible for how they use the Bot and must comply with Discord's own Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.
You agree not to use the Bot for any malicious, harmful, or abusive
purposes. You shall not use the Bot to spread harmful content, engage in
harassment, violate privacy, or participate in any form of cyberbullying.
You also agree not to use /addlink to submit links that are
not rickrolls, or to submit links in order to have unrelated messages
deleted. The Bot should be used in a light-hearted and friendly manner,
respecting the feelings and preferences of other users.
So that the Bot can detect rickrolls, it checks messages in channels it can see for the YouTube links on its blocked list and for a short fixed list of trigger phrases. When a message contains a blocked link, the Bot deletes that message and posts a notice naming the author. By adding the Bot to a server, server administrators consent to this behavior on their members' behalf and are responsible for informing their members. Administrators can limit which channels the Bot can see using Discord's channel permissions. The Bot does not store message content. See the Privacy Policy for details.
The Bot requires permission to send messages, embed links, attach files, and read message history in the channels where it is used. It requires the Manage Messages permission in order to delete messages containing blocked links, and the Connect and Speak permissions in order to play audio in a voice channel. It requests the Message Content privileged intent from Discord solely to detect blocked links and trigger phrases, as described above.
The Bot is provided on an "as-is" basis. The Bot's developer and operators are not responsible for any consequences that arise from use of the Bot. This includes, but is not limited to, any negative reactions, misunderstandings, or disruptions caused by sending rickroll links, or the deletion of any message that matches a blocked link. The Bot may be unavailable at times and may delete messages that a user did not intend as a rickroll.
Scinovus Crafted, the developer of the Bot, reserves the right to modify or discontinue the Bot at any time without notice. This may include adding or removing features, adjusting the behavior of the Bot, or temporarily disabling its functionality.
The Bot stores Discord user IDs, Top.gg vote streak data, and blocked links along with the user ID of whoever submitted them, outside of Discord. It reads message content as messages arrive in order to detect blocked links and trigger phrases, without storing it. All handling of user data is described in full in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these TOS.
You agree to hold Scinovus Crafted harmless from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising out of your use of the Bot in violation of these TOS or applicable laws. This includes claims from third parties affected by your actions while using the Bot.
Scinovus Crafted reserves the right to update these TOS at any time. Any changes will be reflected on this page, and continued use of the Bot after those changes constitutes acceptance of the modified TOS.
